Are you going to Armenia?

There are six different types of electrical plugs used around the world, but one of the most common ones uses three cylindrical prongs. It is not the type of plug that you are probably used to, with two flat prongs and one round one, which is only used in a few places outside of North, Central and South America. In Armenia , a country that borders Turkey, the plug used is the the cylindrical-pronged one. It is also used throughout the rest of Asia and also Europe. This is why you won’t be able to plug any of your electrical appliances in if you go to Armenia .
Fortunately, there is something called a plug adapter that you can buy. It attaches to your appliances and allows you to plug it into outlets in foreign countries. But remember that there are six different kinds of plugs used worldwide, so you must be sure to buy the correct one for the country you are visiting.
You may also need a voltage converter , but only if you plan on bringing single-volt electronics with you when you travel. If you bring dual-voltage appliances, a voltage converter is not needed. To find out if your appliances are dual-voltage or single-voltage, find the voltage rating written on them. If it indicates 110v, then it is single-voltage. You need a voltage converter in order to use it in Armenia , because Armenia uses 220v. If it says 110v-220v, it is dual-voltage, and no voltage converter is needed.
If you discover that you need a voltage converter for some of your items, look for one that lists a 25% higher wattage than the appliance you plan to use it with. The wattage of your appliances may be indicated on the device itself, but if not, you can multiply the voltage by the amp, and the number you get will be the wattage.
